At the completion of this conference, the participants will be able to:

  • Identify practice changing outcomes from ASCO, ESMO and ASTRO 2024;
  • Explain recent advances in the treatment of pancreatic cancer, endometrial cancer and genitourinary cancers;
  • Understand the approach to lymphedema management;
  • Recognize how to incorporate lifestyle medicine into oncology;
  • Describe how to break bad news skillfully;
  • Describe the approach to adjuvant lung cancer treatment in the perioperative setting;
  • Understand the geriatric oncology assessment process;
  • Identify appropriate treatment regimens for VEGF skin toxicities;
  • Comprehend recent advances in the treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia, multiple myeloma, high risk early-stage hormone positive breast cancer;
  • Describe the various treatments available for brain metastases;
  • Understand how to identify and manage immunotherapy toxicities;
  • Identify recent advances in the management of cancer associated thrombosis.

Promote the role of General Practitioners in Oncology within Cancer Centers and within the primary care setting. Support and encourage the development of educational opportunities for
Family Physicians / General Practitioners wishing to obtain additional training in oncology.
